How to play Snooker Rivals.
Play in your browser on PC, Android or iPhone. There’s no app download required. Snooker Rivals is pre-alpha, so the physics and rules are still being improved with player feedback.
Choose a table
Find a room to join an open public table or watch a match. You can queue to play next at a public table. Use Create a room for a public match, a private match with a friend, solo practice or a local two-player game on one device.
Choose 15 reds for a standard frame or 6 reds for a shorter one. Both use the same red-and-colour sequence. A room host can turn off aiming guides for everyone in that room.
Play with a friend on another device
You can play together across PC, Android and iPhone. Create a private room and share its six-character table code or invitation link. Your friend can enter the code on Find a room. You can practise at your table while waiting for your opponent.
Guest or account?
You can try the game as a guest with an automatically assigned Guest name and black flag. A free registered account lets you choose a username and country flag, keep your account identity, add friends and use messages. Online highest breaks qualify for the public leaderboard only on registered accounts; guests, practice and local frames are excluded.
Aim on desktop or touch
In Player view, drag left or right behind the white ball to aim. Drag up or down to raise or lower your view. Aiming slows near a legal target when assistance is enabled. Switch to Top view with the camera button, then tap or click the cloth to plan a shot.
Use the Fine aim button for smaller drag adjustments. On a keyboard, the left and right arrow keys adjust aim; hold Shift for smaller steps. Up and down change your eye height when the table has focus.
Choose power and spin
Pull the cue control on the right down to build power and release to strike. Move it back up before releasing to cancel. On touch screens you can use separate fingers to aim, pull the cue and change spin together. Let the balls settle before the next shot.
The white-ball control on the left sets where the cue strikes: above centre for follow, below centre for screw, or to either side for side spin. Centre resets it. On desktop you can also hold the right mouse button over the table and drag to change the strike point.
The Space key strikes at the selected power. With the cue control focused, the up and down arrow keys set power and Enter strikes. The in-game menu also provides a power slider and strike button. Near a cushion, the contact point can rise to let the cue clear the rail; the red marker shows the actual strike point.
Snooker scoring and the next ball
Pot a red for 1 point, then a colour: yellow 2, green 3, brown 4, blue 5, pink 6 or black 7. Continue alternating reds and colours while reds remain; the colours are respotted. Once the reds and the following colour are finished, clear yellow, green, brown, blue, pink and black in order.
A legal pot continues your visit. A miss or foul passes the turn. Fouls award the opponent 4–7 points, depending on the balls involved. A potted white can be placed in the D. The game prompts for play-again, replacement and free-ball choices when available. Its rules include edge cases that are still being refined; report a specific shot if something seems wrong.
Phones and iPhone Home Screen setup
Turn your phone sideways for the full table and shot controls. On iPhone, a normal Safari tab limits fullscreen. For more space, open snookerrivals.com in Safari, tap Share, choose Add to Home Screen, turn on Open as Web App if shown, then tap Add. Launch the new icon to play without Safari’s address bar and tabs. This is optional; you can keep using the browser.
Connection and practice
Online rooms, friends and leaderboard updates need an internet connection. Practice and local play run on your device after the game resources are loaded. Load the game while connected first: cached resources may allow a later offline session, but first-time loading and every offline revisit are not guaranteed.
What’s available and what’s planned?
Browser matches, practice, 6 and 15-red frames, camera choices and player statistics are available now. The developer’s plans include improved table measurements and physics, replays, character customization and a ranked system. Those plans are not a list of finished features.
For a bug report, include your device/browser, the ball on and what happened. Share it on Discord, or read About and contact.
